MEET OUR MASTER CLASS OF CLUB FITTERS
A better game starts with a better custom golf club fitting. That’s why each one of our fitters goes through hundreds of hours of rigorous textbook and hands-on training at our exclusive Club Champion University. That’s on top of manufacturer certifications and bi-weekly training calls. Because of our unmatched high standards, Club Champion has been ranked as one of Golf Digest’s Top 100 Club Fitters for the past ten years in a row.

He has been working in the golf industry for the last 5 years, with his career starting off in pro shops at local golf courses around the GTA. Patrick enjoys fitting irons because of the ability to create fun combo sets that maximize each golfer’s ability. Patrick has had the opportunity to play at Carnoustie Golf Links and St. Andrews Golf Course both in the UK and Tobacco Road Golf Club in North Carolina, which he notes as his favourite courses. Aside from golf, Patrick enjoys boxing, hockey and soccer.

Dean attended the Golf Management Program at Humber College and graduated in 2017.
The driver is Dean’s favorite component to fit for, because like most of his colleagues, he sees the biggest gains and most improvement for most players. His favorite course played to this point is on the other side of the world, Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand.
It’s appropriate that his favourite course is in New Zealand since much like the island nation Dean once made an elusive albatross. In the winter, Dean can be found on the slopes snowboarding.

Matt Hagglund
Master Fitter and Builder
Matt is a club fitter at our Toronto location. Matt has been working in the golf industry for over 15 years, the majority of that time has been working at various golf courses throughout the GTA.

Matt turned professional shortly after graduating from the Golf Management Program at Humber College in 2019. Matt loves to golf when he has spare time, but most of all his love of being a husband and girl dad are his greatest joys. His favourite component to fit are irons, as they make up the vast majority of your bag. Finding the right shaft, head, and grip can equal major gains!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO SHOULD GET A CUSTOM CLUB FITTING?
Whether you are a high handicapper, a PGA pro, a beginner, a youth golfer, or any other segment of the sport, a custom club fitting is right for you. Anyone looking to find more distance, more consistency, better golf performance overall, or anyone looking to overcome issues like slices, low/high spin, or others should consider a comprehensive custom club fitting. Club Champion is brand agnostic and dedicated to finding the best possible club combination for every level of golfer. Our Master Fitters are trained to improve the golf game of any golfer through better equipment found with real-time data and industry-leading technology.
More distance, improved accuracy, fewer putts, more confidence with your clubs — we work with you to find a solution for all your golf goals.
WHEN SHOULD YOU GET FIT?
Golfers should be fit for clubs when some or all of their equipment no longer suits their game. When a golfer feels their equipment is working against their natural swing motion or isn't providing the intended performance, it's time for a fitting check-up.
Golfers may not need a brand new club or bag overhaul every time they visit — Club Champion can fit and optimize existing equipment as well as provide recommendations for new options based on data.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU GET FIT?
The "latest" equipment isn't always the best equipment for your unique swing. On average, golfers will be fitted for a full bag every 2-3 years. Some clubs, like wedges, should be updated more frequently based on factors like how often you play, playing conditions, etc. Grips should be replaced every season at minimum and simple adjustments like loft and lie should be considered annually to keep your fitted clubs performing optimally.
That said, there are plenty of golfers who want to explore new releases every year — there is no limit to how frequently you can check in on your game.
